SATURDAY 13th NOVEMBER 2021
WE ARE OPENING OUR DOORS TO WELCOME EVERYONE INTO OUR HISTORIC HOME
10am - 3pm

FREEMASONS' HALL, 78 - 80 LONDON ROAD, LEICESTER, LE2 0RA

We are delighted to be able to invite you to visit the wonderful Freemasons' Hall in Leicester. Comprised of two early 19th Century houses designed by Thornton, this architectural gem is one of the Grade II listed properties in Leicester indicating the value of the building.

The two buildings were acquired by the Freemasons of Leicestershire and Rutland as a new home in 1909. The remodelling work was commissioned in 1909 and completed in 1910 and converted the two former houses into a home to meet the needs of the Freemasons who had moved from their previous location in nearby Halford Street.

Be sure to take in the beautiful Holmes Lodge Room (pictured above) which features the Roman Ionic order of architecture having a barrel-vaulted ceiling dividing the room into three distinct sections.

The museum will also be open and showcases one of the finest collections of Masonic books and artefacts outside London.

Throughout the building we will have knowledgeable members on hand to answer any questions you may have about the building, its contents – or just about Freemasonry in general.

There is no need to book and once inside the building you will be able to tour around the Lodge Meeting rooms at your own pace.

As a charitable organisation, donating over £50 million to charities every year, we are also delighted that we will be supported by displays from some of the local charities we support, as well as some of the special interest and sporting clubs associated with the Freemasons.

Visitors will also have access to Devonshire Place - a unique Wedding, Conference & Banqueting Venue set in the Grade II listed building. This versatile venue boasts two stunning ballrooms and multiple banqueting rooms so if you are looking for a Leicester venue for a special event you are planning it is a great opportunity to come and have a look and find out more about what we can offer.

Entrance is free and we can provide limited car-parking available in Prebend Street. Being only a few minutes’ walk from the train station you can also use a host of local car parks should our own car park be full.

If you have any disabilities or special needs, please contact us before visiting to ensure that we will be able to accommodate you on the day.

We look forward to welcoming you to our home.
