Leicester, 12th July 2025. The Leicestershire & Rutland Light Blue Club took to the water in style this weekend, hosting a lively charity boat trip that raised £800 for local causes.

Open to all members of the local Freemasons, the event cruised along the scenic River Soar and featured a colourful theme of “Captains, Pirates, and Lifeguards.” Attendees embraced the spirit of the day, donning creative fancy dress outfits that brought a festive atmosphere to the fundraising voyage.

This nautical-themed event has become a cherished tradition for the Light Blue Club, combining fun, fellowship, and raising money for charity.

Chairman of the Club, Dave Batey, reflected on the day’s success: “What a fantastic day we had on the River Soar. Raising money and having a great time is what the Freemasons are all about.”

The funds raised will go toward charitable initiatives supported by the Freemasons, continuing their long-standing commitment to community support across Leicestershire and Rutland.
