Chapter of the Flaming Torch Grows Again

Tuesday 3rd December 2025 – Freemasons’ Hall, Leicester

The members of the Chapter of the Flaming Torch gathered once more at Freemasons’ Hall, Leicester, for a meeting marked by enthusiasm, anticipation, and celebration. As one of the Province’s newer Royal Arch teams, the Chapter is steadily building its identity and momentum under the leadership of First Principal Roy Evans, supported by the dedicated duo of Perry Stewart-Halford and Scott Arnold.

A highlight of the evening was the Exaltation of Karl Charnley, who continues his masonic journey from the Lodge of the Flaming Torch into the Royal Arch. Freemasons are encouraged to advance to this fourth step in Antient Freemasonry, discovering the further meanings and symbolism held within the Royal Arch. For Karl, the ceremony was both meaningful and memorable, offering new insight into the wider tapestry of the Craft.

The meeting proceeded smoothly and with evident enthusiasm from both the officers and the companions in attendance. The atmosphere of excitement and friendly anticipation reflected the Chapter’s growing confidence and its commitment to giving candidates a warm, engaging experience.

The evening concluded in festive style with a Christmas dinner at Devonshire Place, where companions enjoyed good food, good company, and the spirit of the season—bringing a perfect close to a successful and celebratory night for the Chapter of the Flaming Torch.
