Yorick Lodge Visit
Five whisky “enthusiasts” (purely in the name of research, of course) from the Leicestershire and Rutland lodges made a fact-finding expedition to Yorick Lodge at Great Queen Street for their November meeting. Yorick Lodge, The Metropolitan Whisky Lodge, No. 2771, has recently been repurposed as a whisky-themed lodge — a concept that, unsurprisingly, has proved extremely popular. There is no current specialist provision in Melton Mowbray and even at Stoneygate there is a desperate need for new teachers. Dyslexia is a huge and growing problem in education and, as it is not related to intelligence, h

Freemasonry at Lunchtime: A Unique Tradition in Leicestershire & Rutland
Leicestershire & Rutland, November 14, 2025 – In an age when most Masonic lodges gather in the evenings, a distinctive group in Leicestershire & Rutland is proving that Freemasonry doesn’t have to follow the traditional schedule. The Ratae Meridian Lodge No. 9673, which has met during the day for more than two decades, continues to provide an alternative for those brethren who find lunchtime more convenient than evening meetings. Since its founding in 1998, the Lodge has cat

Devonshire Court Hosts a Heart-Warming Ladies Festival
A long-held wish of one of Devonshire Court’s Resident Ladies became a reality this autumn, thanks to the dedication and perseverance of Tony Ridewood and the support of the Friends of Devonshire Court. Several years ago, during a casual conversation, a Resident mentioned to Centre Almoner, Tony Ridewood, that what she missed most about being actively involved in Freemasonry was dressing up and attending a traditional Ladies Festival. The comment struck a chord, and Tony was
