Enderby Lodge Donates £3,500 to The Laura Centre in Support of Bereaved Families

On 16th July, Mark Smith and Roger Snow of Enderby Lodge No.5061, visited The Laura Centre in Leicester to celebrate a donation of £3,500 to the charity. The Laura Centre was Mark’s nominated cause during his year as Master, chosen for its vital work supporting families through the most difficult of circumstances.

Founded in 1991, The Laura Centre provides specialist therapeutic services for parents who have lost a child, as well as counselling for children and young people who are themselves bereaved. The charity’s work is recognised nationally for its compassionate, professional support delivered at times of profound grief.

During the visit, Mark and Roger met with Sandip Binning, the charity’s CEO and Counsellor, who expressed her gratitude for the Lodge’s generosity and ongoing support. The donation will help the Centre continue offering free counselling sessions, group support, and therapeutic programmes to families across Leicester and beyond.

Mark Smith said that choosing The Laura Centre as his Master’s charity was “an easy decision”, praising the organisation’s dedication to helping families rebuild their lives after loss.

The visit highlighted the strong partnership between local Freemasons and community charities, and the continuing commitment of Enderby Lodge to supporting those who rely on specialist bereavement services.
