FLAMING TORCH SHINING BRIGHTLY

On Thursday 8th October, the Lodge of the Flaming Torch No.4874 gathered at Freemasons’ Hall, Leicester for a memorable and uplifting evening of Freemasonry.

The meeting centred on a Third Degree ceremony for Ogulcan Eren, with members and visitors working together seamlessly to ensure the occasion was both dignified and enjoyable. Despite a handful of last‑minute changes, the lodge rose to the challenge with impressive teamwork. Every brother involved played their part to deliver an excellent experience for the candidate, and they succeeded admirably.

The evening concluded with a proud moment for Simon Clark‑Monks, who received his Grand Lodge Certificate. The presentation was carried out by the Lodge Liaison Officer, Richard Barnett, marking another milestone in Simon’s Masonic journey.

A special word of thanks goes to Lodge Semper Eadem, whose visiting brethren provided invaluable support. Trevor Rogers stepped in as Tyler, while Matt Zmija delivered a superb rendition of the Traditional History, contributions that were greatly appreciated by all present.

With the lodge’s centenary fast approaching, excitement is already building. Formed one hundred years ago, the Lodge of the Flaming Torch will celebrate this remarkable milestone on Tuesday 10th December. Visitors from near and far will be warmly welcomed as the lodge marks its century of Freemasonry.
