Open Morning at Freemasons’ Hall Leicester

Saturday 20th June 2026. Freemasons’ Hall Leicester welcomed members, friends, and curious visitors for a vibrant Open Morning showcasing some of the many Companion Orders of Freemasonry.

Sixteen Orders, all of which members are eligible to join, set up their displays in the Holmes Dining Room, ready to greet visitors when the doors opened at 10 am. Over the course of three hours, a steady stream of members, families, and guests explored the exhibits, learning about each Order’s regalia, traditions, meeting styles, and membership requirements.

One of the highlights of the morning was a precision sword drill performed by the Provincial Knights Templar Bodyguard, who turned out in impressive numbers despite the warm weather.

The event also attracted several non‑members, who had seen the Open Morning promoted on social media and came along to learn more about Craft Freemasonry. The magnificent Holmes Lodge Room was open for viewing, as was the museum, giving visitors a rare opportunity to explore the building’s history and architecture.

Representatives of the Orders were well looked after throughout the morning, with refreshments available all day, including a well‑earned bacon cob to start the day.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Many left with new knowledge, renewed enthusiasm, and a clearer sense of the next steps on their Masonic journey.
