A Gathering of Friendship at Freemasons’ Hall Leicester – Saturday 16th May 2026

Freemasons’ Hall Leicester opened its doors on Saturday 16th May 2026 to welcome members from across the country for this year’s annual gathering of the Lodges of Friendship.

Once a year, every Lodge that bears the word Friendship in its title comes together in the town or city chosen by that year’s host lodge. For 2026, the honour fell to Leicester.

Freemasons’ Hall is renowned nationwide for its magnificent lodge rooms, and many visitors were delighted to experience them for the very first time. The Holmes Lodge Room looked superb as nearly one hundred Freemasons assembled for the meeting, filling the space with a real sense of anticipation and camaraderie.

Presiding over the evening’s proceedings was Nick Evans, Master of Leicester’s Lodge of Friendship, who guided the lodge through a full and lively agenda. The occasion was made even more special for Christopher Thalha, attending his very first meeting as a member of the lodge. The warm and enthusiastic welcome he received from the assembled brethren made the moment truly memorable.

Following the meeting, the team at Freemasons’ Hall provided an excellent dining experience, after which the evening continued with drinks, conversation, and the company of family and friends who had joined the celebrations.

Reflecting on the event, Nick Evans said: “What a fantastic sight, to see the rooms so full as we welcome our friends, in the bonds of friendship, from around the country.”
