The 398th meeting of St. Martin’s Chapter No. 3431 took place on Monday 9th March 2026 at Freemasons’ Hall, Leicester, marking the Chapter’s annual installation meeting and the formal handover to a new leadership team for the coming year.
A Smooth and Dignified Transition
The Chapter has enjoyed an excellent year under the capable guidance of Robert Warrington and his officers. Their hard work, commitment, and steady leadership were evident throughout the past twelve months. With his term now complete, Robert handed the reins to Charles Bentley, who was installed as the new First Principal and entrusted with leading the Chapter through 2026 and into 2027.
A Well‑Kept Surprise
Unbeknownst to Charles, a number of distinguished guests had quietly arranged to attend the meeting, adding an unexpected and memorable touch to the evening. The surprise delegation was led by Peter Kinder, the Head of Craft Freemasonry in Leicestershire & Rutland, accompanied by several members of his team. Their presence was warmly received and added to the sense of occasion.
Representing the Royal Arch Province were Philip Dood and Mark Street, whose support further underlined the importance of the evening.
A Fitting Conclusion
The meeting concluded in fine style with an excellent meal and a lively Festive Board, where members and guests enjoyed good company, warm conversation, and the shared anticipation of another successful year ahead for St. Martin’s Chapter.
