The Leicestershire Autistic Society (LAS) works to assist people, particularly parents with an autistic child, or children, by providing advice and support, signposting to available services and running regular groups.

Peter Holdridge, Treasurer of LAS commented that each month a Lego club is run for young people, as well as a social group for autistic adults. As well as this, a friendship club for autistic young people is held every fortnight, and a club running events for young people in the summer holidays.

Peter said, "We seek to promote knowledge and awareness of autism wherever possible. We also work alongside other local charities that provide day trips and activities for autistic young people and their families. The money donated to LAS by the Leicestershire and Rutland Freemasons will greatly assist us in continuing this work. We are very grateful for the support of all your members."

The donations, totalling £3,500 came from the Royal Arch Masons of Leicestershire & Rutland (£2,500) and the Leicestershire & Rutland Freemasons Charity and Vale of Catmos Chapter (£1,000).
