Leicestershire & Rutland Well Represented at Annual Grand Investitures in London

On Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th April 2026, a strong contingent of Leicestershire & Rutland Freemasons travelled to Freemasons’ Hall, Great Queen Street, London, to join colleagues from across the country for the annual investiture meetings of Grand Lodge and Supreme Grand Chapter.

The Province was well represented on both days, with many members attending to support those receiving appointments and promotions. In the Craft, Roger Clarke received his first Grand Rank, being appointed Assistant Grand Standard Bearer.

Richard Barnett and Charles Bentley were each appointed Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies, a well‑deserved recognition of their service.

In the Royal Arch, Philip Dodd was promoted to Past Assistant Grand Sojourner.

First appointments were conferred on Steve Skidmore (Past Grand Standard Bearer) and Adrian Pearse (Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies).

Dining after the meetings added to the sense of occasion, with an exclusive restaurant hosting the Wednesday gathering and the Grand Connaught Rooms providing a fitting setting on Thursday.

All those appointed and promoted, together with their guests, enjoyed two memorable days of celebration and fellowship. They now look forward to wearing their new ranks with pride at upcoming lodge and chapter meetings.
