It was a cold and misty morning at Bradgate Park as local Freemasons from Leicestershire & Rutland as well as members of the Order of Women Freemasons set up a stand to promote what we do and invite others to get involved.

Freemasonry is open to all with lodges for men as well as women across the counties with exciting opportunities to help individuals build lasting friendships and become involved in the local community. This is the message which was on display in Bradgate Park on Sunday 23rd March 2025.

Organised by the Membership Officer Andy York, many others soon rallied around to provide experience and discuss their time as a Freemason. The stand was soon bristling with keen-eyed passers by who wanted to learn more about the organisation. The rain kept away, which made for a cold but enjoyable day, with the nearby café at hand to provide some welcoming warmth.

Bradgate Park is a special place for Freemasons, during the 300th anniversary year in 2017, Freemasons donated £10,000 to help restore the nearby memorial wood, which is now home to paths and walkways into the heart of the space from the main

carriageway. Natural paths within the woodland give people the opportunity to explore the wood, with seating and a central feature providing a relaxing environment. The now popular bronze oak leaves are ever present in memory of loved ones who have since passed.
