THE DEREK BUSWELL LODGE OF PROVINCIAL GRAND STEWARDS – INSTALLATION MEETING, 15TH SEPTEMBER 2026

On Tuesday 15th September 2026, the Derek Buswell Lodge of Provincial Grand Stewards gathered at Freemasons’ Hall, Leicester, for its annual Installation meeting.

Consecrated on 18th January 2000, the Lodge was founded with a unique membership: those who have served as part of the Provincial Grand Stewards team. Twenty‑six years later, the Lodge continues to flourish. With a membership now exceeding eighty, its Stewards play vital roles throughout the year at major Provincial events, ensuring they run smoothly and with the professionalism for which the Province is known.

A Night of Ceremony and Celebration

The fifty‑fourth regular meeting marked an important moment of transition as Mark Bigam concluded his year as Master, formally handing over the gavel to Roger Whale. The beautifully ornate Holmes Lodge Room provided a fitting backdrop for the occasion, welcoming not only members of the Lodge but also visiting Stewards from across the country who came to witness Roger’s installation.

Adding further distinction to the evening, Assistant Provincial Grand Master Dale Page was installed as Senior Warden, while fellow APGM Steve Skidmore attended as the official Provincial representative. Their presence underscored the significance of the Lodge’s work and its contribution to the Province.

Looking Ahead

With Roger now firmly at the helm, planning for the year ahead is already underway. The Lodge enters its twenty‑seventh year with confidence, enthusiasm, and a continued commitment to supporting the Province wherever its skills are needed.
