A Proud Night for Granite Lodge: Installation Meeting – Monday 11th May 2026

Granite Lodge marked another milestone in its remarkable 142‑year history on Monday 11th May 2026, as members and guests gathered for a memorable Installation meeting filled with tradition, dignity, and genuine camaraderie.

The lodge was honoured by the presence of the Head of Leicestershire & Rutland Freemasons, Peter Kinder, accompanied by his Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Dale Page, along with a strong contingent of visiting brethren. Their attendance added a real sense of occasion to what was already an important evening for the lodge.

A Superb Installation Ceremony

The spotlight of the evening fell on Steve Larwood, who was installed as the new Master of Granite Lodge. The ceremony was conducted with confidence, precision, and heartfelt sincerity by the Installing Master, Kevin Horler, whose performance was widely praised by all present. His delivery of the ritual set the tone for a meeting that was both polished and deeply meaningful.

Visitors and members alike commented on the quality of the work, the warmth of the welcome, and the pride evident throughout the lodge room.

Celebration and Fellowship

Following the formalities, the evening continued in fine style at the festive board. The atmosphere was lively and full of good humour, with excellent food and great company rounding off the night perfectly. It was a fitting celebration for a lodge that continues to thrive well into its second century.

As Granite Lodge looks ahead to another year under the leadership of its new Master, the Installation meeting of 2026 will be remembered as a shining example of Freemasonry at its best, tradition upheld, friendships strengthened, and the future embraced with confidence.
