The second annual Dave Day, held over the weekend of June 21st and 22nd, brought together over 30,000 bikers and fans to honour the life and legacy of the beloved chef, author, TV personality, and motorcycle enthusiast, Dave Myers. Organized in collaboration with ‘Brothers on Bikes’ – the Association of Masonic Motorcyclists – the event celebrated not just Dave's memory, but his enduring impact on biking, charity, and British culture.
The event kicked off in spectacular fashion from the iconic Ace Café in London, led by fellow Hairy Biker Si King, Dave’s wife Lili Myers, and close friend Jason ‘Woody’ Woodcock. As the convoy roared down the A40, crowds gathered on bridges and by the roadside, building energy along the 300-mile journey north to Dave’s hometown of Barrow-in-Furness.
While last year's tribute carried a tone of loss, this year’s atmosphere was filled with pride and celebration of Dave’s legacy. Fans were moved not only by Si King’s continued tribute to his on-screen partner, but also by Lili Myers’ touching presence. Lili, who met Dave during the filming of the first Hairy Bikers series, launched her heartfelt new book during the weekend, sharing her personal journey through grief and life alongside – and after – Dave.
Despite the occasional rain, spirits were undampened as the streets of Barrow came alive. Bikers received a hero’s welcome with cheering crowds lining the town centre for hours. The celebrations included show-stopping performances by original members of Thin Lizzy alongside AC/DC tribute band Hells Bells, bustling food fairs, thrilling stunt shows, motorcycle museum exhibitions, and a light-hearted celebrity football match that kept the crowd entertained.
The weekend culminated in a sold-out Gala Dinner, where the festivities carried on into the night – including Si King taking to the bongos and keeping the rhythm going past midnight.
Dave Day 2025 was more than just a tribute – it was a powerful reminder of how one man's passion for food, bikes, and friendship continues to bring people together.
