Staffordshire, 1st November 2025 — Freemasons from across the country came together at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to honour those who gave their lives in service to the nation. The annual Freemasons' national service of remembrance was marked by solemn reflection, unity, and gratitude.
A strong contingent from Leicestershire & Rutland was present, with Peter Kinder, Head of Leicestershire & Rutland Freemasons, laying a wreath in tribute to all who have fallen in wartime efforts to protect the country.
“It is a very humbling experience to visit this wonderful national memorial here in Staffordshire,” said Peter. “I thank all those who have turned out today.”
The service was led with dignity and tradition, featuring Bryon Brotherton, a member of the lodge of welcome in Leicester, who led the procession playing the bagpipes — a poignant and stirring tribute to the fallen.
Following the ceremony, attendees were invited to a buffet, offering an opportunity to reflect and connect before making their journeys home.
The event continues to be a meaningful occasion for Freemasons nationwide, reinforcing their commitment to remembrance and community service.
