Freemasons from Leicestershire & Rutland gathered on Sunday 9th November to take part in the annual Service of Remembrance at Victoria Park, Leicester. Making their way up London Road alongside hundreds of others, they joined veterans, serving personnel, and members of the public in honouring those who gave their lives in service to their country.

The service, organised as always by Leicester City Council, was led by the Bishop of Loughborough, the Right Reverend Saju Muthalaly. Representatives from the armed forces, emergency services, and cadet organisations also took part in the solemn ceremony.

Among those laying wreaths was the Head of Leicestershire & Rutland Freemasons, Peter Kinder, who was joined by members of his provincial team and their families. Together, they paid tribute to the fallen and reflected on the enduring importance of remembrance.

Speaking after the service, Peter said:

“Myself and the team are immensely proud to be representing the local Freemasons to pay our respects and honour those who have, and continue to serve in our forces at home and abroad.”

The annual event once again brought the Leicester community together in unity and gratitude, ensuring that the sacrifices made for freedom are never forgotten.
