St Mary’s Lodge No. 7164 demonstrated the enduring strength of Freemasonry on 27 April 2026, when members gathered to welcome a new brother into the Craft. The meeting, always a highlight in any lodge’s calendar, was made even more memorable by the attendance of the Head of Leicestershire & Rutland Freemasonry, Peter Kinder, accompanied by a distinguished team of Provincial Officers.
With the lodge room filled to capacity, the officers of St Mary’s delivered an exemplary ceremony for Daniel, their newest member, showcasing the lodge’s commitment to high standards and heartfelt tradition.
A further highlight of the evening came when one of the lodge’s longest‑serving members, Richard Skelton, was invited to the centre of the room. There, Peter Kinder shared stories of Richard’s early life and his remarkable Masonic journey. The occasion marked an extraordinary milestone, Richard has now dedicated more than 60 years to Freemasonry. To commemorate this achievement, he was presented with a certificate and a special badge, which he proudly promised to wear.

The celebrations continued in the dining hall, where members and guests enjoyed an excellent meal and a lively session of fundraising. Thanks to the generosity of those present, over £300 was raised for charity, bringing a fitting close to a memorable evening of fellowship, recognition, and tradition.
