Ratae Meridian Lodge No.9673, the only daylight Lodge in the Province, brought members, families, friends, and prospective members together on 28th January 2026 for a memorable charity event in support of PASIC, a local organisation providing end‑of‑life care and vital support to children with cancer and their families across Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, and Leicestershire.
The event was hosted at Amrut Indian Restaurant in the heart of Leicester, where guests enjoyed a warm welcome, excellent company, and a superb selection of dishes arranged by the Lodge’s Charity Steward, Suri Gudka. His efforts, along with the dedication of the Lodge members, helped make the afternoon a resounding success.
Inspiring Presentations and a Worthy Cause
As Master Lodge, W.Bro. Jaswant Gohil opened the proceedings by introducing Mrs Louise Towse, CEO of PASIC, and Steve Skidmore, Assistant Head of Leicestershire & Rutland Freemasons. Both speakers delivered heartfelt and informative presentations, Mrs Towse on the essential work PASIC undertakes, and Steve Skidmore on the charitable efforts of the Leicestershire & Rutland Freemasons.
PASIC holds particular significance for the Lodge Master, who selected it as his charity of the year due to his own understanding of the emotional strain faced by families navigating chronic and end‑of‑life care. His personal connection added a moving dimension to the event and resonated strongly with those in attendance.
A Generous Afternoon of Fellowship
The afternoon saw 70 guests, including many potential new masons, enjoying the fellowship and spirit of giving that characterises Ratae Meridian Lodge. A lively raffle offered a range of wonderful prizes, and an auction featuring a professional at‑home haircut voucher and a case of Casa Andina Cabernet Sauvignon added to the excitement.
By the end of the event, nearly £2,800 had been raised for PASIC. With the possibility of additional support from the LRFC, the Lodge hopes the final contribution will make a meaningful difference to the charity’s work.
