Wiclif Chapter Presents £1,500 Donation to The Laura Centre in Leicester

On 17th September 2026, Richard Keenan, of Wiclif Chapter No. 3078, proudly presented a donation of £1,500 to The Laura Centre in Leicester. The funds were raised through charitable giving during Richard’s year in office, supported by an additional contribution from the Provincial Grand Chapter of Leicestershire & Rutland.

The presentation was attended by Clive Sparling, Wiclif Chapter Charity Steward and Provincial Grand Charity Steward, Lisa Patel, representing The Laura Centre, and Richard Keenan. The group gathered to celebrate the Chapter’s support for a charity that continues to provide vital care to families facing profound loss.

Founded by the parents of Laura Jane Moore, who tragically passed away at the age of five, The Laura Centre offers specialist counselling, guidance, and bereavement support to parents, children, and young people. Over the years, it has become a lifeline for families navigating grief, providing a safe and compassionate space during the most difficult of times.

The charity holds particular significance for Richard, who chose The Laura Centre in honour of two former colleagues from Leicestershire Police. Both suffered the devastating loss of their only child while on holiday and later turned to The Laura Centre for support. Their experience highlighted the essential role the charity plays in helping families rebuild their lives after tragedy.

The donation from Wiclif Chapter and the Provincial Grand Chapter will help The Laura Centre continue delivering its free counselling services and therapeutic programmes to families across Leicester and beyond.

This latest act of generosity reflects the ongoing commitment of Royal Arch Masons to supporting meaningful causes within the local community.
