It was a bright morning on Saturday, 17th May, as volunteers from the Leicestershire & Rutland Freemasons began to set up for their open morning to display the magnificent building and historical artefacts to the public.

For anyone who has walked past 80 London Road in Leicester, a certain sense of intrigue dwells in the air as the famous building is not a place many have visited. Tours can be arranged at any time of the year, for prospective members or for groups who have a fascination with history and architecture.

Several times each year, an open morning is arranged, with local experts on hand to answer any questions that may arise.

A social media marketing campaign was embarked upon, with significant interest being shown to come and see who the Freemasons are, and where they meet. Members of the local lodges, along with representatives from special interest lodges and the women's freemasons, were stationed in the hall to offer any advice and guidance to interested parties.

The morning eventually ended, with all those present departing having increased their knowledge about who we are and what we do.
