The Freemasons of Temperantia Lodge No. 4088 in Leicester gathered on the 15th of April 2025 for a momentous meeting aimed at revitalising their lodge and securing its future prosperity. With a proud history dating back to 1920, the lodge has stood as a beacon of friendship and tradition for over a century.
Determined to usher in a new prosperous era, Temperantia Lodge embraced the Membership Challenge with the support of Freemasons from the Province of Leicestershire & Rutland. Under the guidance of the Head of Leicestershire & Rutland Freemasons, Peter Kinder, and a dedicated team of Provincial Officers, the members assembled at Leicester’s magnificent Freemasons’ Hall to lay the groundwork for a thriving future.

The meeting marked the beginning of an ambitious membership drive fueled by enthusiasm and a shared vision of growth. A growing list of new members is already in place, and these future Freemasons will have the chance to experience the Friendship, Respect, Integrity and Service of the lodge firsthand at the upcoming Open Morning at Freemasons’ Hall Leicester on 17th May.
The Open Morning, a key event in the Province’s outreach efforts, offers visitors a rare glimpse into the heritage and customs of Freemasonry. It provides an opportunity for prospective members and those with an interest in history, architecture, and the local community to interact with experienced Freemasons, ask questions, and learn about the values and objectives that underpin the organisation.
For Temperantia Lodge, this event represents a pivotal step in their journey of renewal. With strong leadership and an engaged membership, the lodge is poised to re-establish itself as a vibrant and thriving institution.
As the lodge looks ahead, the spirit of optimism and dedication permeates Temperantia Lodge. With a new focus and a renewed commitment to enjoyment, the lodge’s future shines brighter than ever. This transformation serves as a testament to the enduring appeal of Freemasonry—an organisation built on Friendship, integrity, Respect and Charitable Service.
